About Craig Brown

I’m a Red Seal carpenter with 27 years of experience in residential construction. Before launching Buildinsight, I owned and operated an ADU and home building company, where I built everything from custom homes to major renovations and additions.

I created Buildinsight because I saw too many homeowners struggling with the permit process and making expensive mistakes simply because the plans didn’t reflect how buildings actually go together in the real world.

My background as a builder gives me a unique advantage — I don’t just draw plans, I build them. This allows me to create practical, buildable drawings and provide advice that saves clients time, money, and frustration.
